The Pizzettos® Story

It all started as a class project!  The challenge for Food Science students was to develop a food product for a human colony on Mars 20 years from now.  The product had to use only agricultural products grown on Mars, use minimum water, generate minimum waste, satisfy the nutritional requirements for adults, and create no crumbs.  The founders of Xengaru Fun Foods developed a delicious pizza snack using real pizza dough and tasty ingredients.  We entered this snack in NASA's FTCSC national Food Product Development Competition for use by future astronauts, and it won!  Not only did our pizza snack meet the technical challenges, it was exceptionally tasty and nutritious too!

So, do astronauts take Pizzettos® with them on their missions? Not yet, because NASA requires that Pizzettos® must first be sold on earth.  We decided to make this happen by creating Xengaru Fun Foods.  We hope you like our first product; maybe someday you'll be the first astronaut to eat Pizzettos® in outer space!
